reroot organically raised chicken now available! reroot has raised their first batch of chickens and they are available now for $4.25/lb. Our chickens are fed certified organic feed and are raised outdoors on green pasture, with room to peck around and grass and bugs to eat. We currently have frozen whole chickens available ranging in weight from 3-5lbs. Fresh chickens can be pre-ordered for September 11/12.
CSA pick-ups will begin on Thursday, June 10th in Waterloo, Saturday, June 12th in Elora and Tuesday, June 15th at the farm. Details about the pick-ups and maps to the pick-up locations can be found at CSA Info
reroot organic CSA, established in 2007, is a small community-shared agriculture project dedicated to growing delicious, healthy and safe food in ways that protect the ecological viability of the land. More than 50 types of vegetables and herbs are started in our greenhouse, and grown on land located at Mapleton’s Organic Dairy, certified organic since 1990. In 2010, reroot will grow food for 70 shareholders in its four-acre vegetable garden, providing a weekly harvest from mid-June until late October. We will also be selling vegetables at the Waterloo Crafters' & Farmers' Market, Thursdays from 4pm-8pm and the Elora Farmer's Market, Saturdays from 9am-1pm.
